About
For over a decade co-founder of Forgotten Stories, Derek Williams, has utilized his experience in the non-profit and entertainment industry to produce projects that raise awareness and funds for those in need. A few of Derek’s credits include being Executive Producer on Tommy Walker’s Break Through: Live At Saddleback release in partnership with Purpose Driven, as well as The Invitation DVD/CD project through Forgotten Stories.
His dream is to build a cause driven company that works with creative artists and entrepreneurs in producing culturally relevant messages through products that raise awareness and money to help those who live in extreme poverty.
Before Derek moved to Los Angeles, the only other home he had ever known was Hong Kong. With the DNA of a world traveler, he has ventured into the jungles of the Amazon, the bush of Africa and the slums of Asia with a heart to share forgotten stories of both the physically and spiritually poor. As of 2010 the projects Derek has produced for artists, entrepreneurs and organizations have generated over $1M for relief efforts.
Currently, he spends his time producing music and film as well as writing both fiction and non-fiction. He has recently finished writing a book with author, Mitch Kruse, called Restoration Road (Credo House, Fall 2009) as well as producing and directing a twelve-week companion DVD. He is also a contributing Writer for HOLY BIBLE: MOSAIC (Tyndale 2009) and co-host of the WTT podcast that currently has over 8,000 subscribers.
In development: Producer & Director of weekly television show, Restoration Road with Mitch Kruse, to begin airing in June 2010 on NBC in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
